Harvey, I’m glad I took the time to drop you an email a few weeks back even though the proximate cause was my frustration with M.J. I seem to be emerging from something of a long night of the soul. I think I grew up wrong as a poet, with the wrong models of behavior & poetic attitude. Then in my mid-forties found mysel not liking where I was poetically but having not a clue where to go. My sympathies have always been progressive, both politically & poetically, but the poetries that parade themselves as progressive these days lead nowhere for me. Going back to song . . . more anon.
