Joseph Duemer is Professor of Literature Emeritus at Clarkson University in northern New York state. His most recent book of poems is Magical Thinking from Ohio State University Press. Since the mid-1990s he has spent a good deal of time in Vietnam, mostly Hanoi. He lives with his wife Carole & five terriers (four Jack Russells & one Patterdale) on the stony bank of the Raquette River in South Colton.

  1. “UNREAL CITY” collage ARRIVED! in the mail yesterday Friday, AND it came in perfect shape — no dings or lifts.
    Richard pulled up a quite high-quality frame as if made for it that He’d gotten in West Portal (not far from where the M Oceanview comes through the tunnel from the Castro on the east side) in a thrift store or maybe it was that little antique one with stacks of them sometimes. This one had some old faded b&w photo of the Houses of Parliament in it but with a superior white mat and he knew it would be right some day for the perfect art work. He said to tell you it won’t stay in the bright light.
