did you ever read bernd heinrich’s MIND OF THE RAVEN? (in pbk since 1999. the subtitle is “investigations and adventures with wolf-birds? the current pbk a harper perennial has in the back ‘a raven update’ (of 9pp)the last paragraph of which is personal and fine in the way you write. ed
I love that book. You could say it is what restarted a childhood interest in birds about a decade ago.
