Worked for the peppers. But I don't even try tomatoes down here in the woods. Too much shade & too short a growing season. I haven't managed to get a ripe pepper yet, and I've had more green tomatoes for dinner than red ones. Of course, the lows haven't reached anywhere near freezing yet.
